Cutting Notes

Always test cut prior to any production run. Cutter settings will need to be adjusted as the blade ages. For optimal cutting and weeding, maintain a line thickness of at least 1/8” for lettering & logos.

Multi-Color Designs

Two-color GLITTER is NOT recommended. For an alternative use Thermo-FILM® or Thermo-GRIP® for the background material. After preheating garment, position the first color, place cover sheet over graphic, and press for 2 seconds at 330°F (165°C). Peel warm. Align second color and replace cover sheet. Finish with final application step. Peel carrier COLD.

Accessories Required

Cover Sheet, EZ Weeder or Tweezers

Please Note:

Due to the combination of fabrics, weaves, coatings, and dyes used in the textile industry, Stahls’ recommends and provides heat transfer material samples for testing.

  • Glitter is a one-step application with a cold peel, so press your garments, throw them to the side and peel them later to save time. You can actually wait as long as you want before peeling.

Questions & Answers

Everyone has questions. Tell us yours.

How do I cut backgrounds on my vinyl cutter?
Creating a background layer will involve using a contour tool within a graphic art program. In CorelDRAW®, for example, use the Interactive Contour Tool to create additional layers to the outside of the original object. Keep in mind, when cutting a background layer you will need to perform test cuts and adjust the cutting specifications the same way you would cut a foreground layer.
There are so many materials to choose from, which one is right for my job?
We provide decorating solutions to a wide array of markets with different requirements and fabrics. We also want to offer you with the most up-to-date materials available in the market today with a variety of finishes. Use the material comparison chart to help you make the decision on the right material to buy.
What are Heat Printing Pillows and Heat Press Cover Sheets used for?
6 Mil Heat Press Cover Sheets are our most popular cover sheets. They protect letters and numbers from being heat applied to the upper heating element of your heat press machine. They also leave a nice finish on the letters and numbers, protect the garment and upper platen from dirt and dyes, and are reusable. We also offer Kraft Paper Cover Sheets that are used for the same purpose, but the Kraft Paper helps reduce static build-up while heat applying our CAD-CUT® Materials.

Heat Printing Pillows and Print Perfect Pads create a flat, even surface for equal temperature and pressure throughout the heat transfer. They’re helpful when you’re heat-applying decoration on those items that include buttons, heavy seams, and zippers!
Can I use Stahls' CutUps vector images on my Mac?
Yes, CutUps images are compatible with your graphics software of choice on any Mac or PC.
How thick is the Rhinestone Backer Board?
Approximately .25 inches.
