What is full color digital printing?

What is full color digital printing?

Digital printing describes any process that uses full color printing in the production process. More specifically, it involves the use of a printer/cutter with printable heat transfer material.

Giving a sharp, crisp, 3D-look to any logo, full color printing allows you to offer your customers an assortment of dynamic options.

Whether you’re a screen printer or an embroiderer, digital services are a great addition to your business. You’ll no longer have to worry about the number of colors in a logo or what material the logo is being applied to.

You can use the same digital transfer logo on a T-shirt, bag, jacket, and hat – regardless of the fabric. You can select a size that is right for all the products and take care of them in one order.
You can heat apply digital transfers to products made of neoprene, including koozies, wine bags, scuba suits, lunch bags, and laptop cases.

For Apparel

Great for short-run orders, full color designs printed on heat transfer material can be applied on a variety of apparel and accessories. These designs can be heat applied to almost any type of fabric, making them great for spandex, nylon, and leather.

Have a logo with more than four colors? Digital transfers offer an economical solution.

Tip: Use the material selection chart to select the best printable heat transfer material for your fabric.

For Non-Apparel

Complement decorated apparel with a non-apparel add-on service. Transfer your customer’s logo onto banners, bumper stickers, window decals, static clings, and a variety of other items.

Most products have a pressure-sensitive adhesive and must be applied manually. No heat is required for application.

Do you have any information or products for custom printed disposable coasters?
A:
We recommend custom stickers for application to items like disposable coasters. Simply submit the design you want on the coasters and we’ll print and ship the stickers for you to apply.

Is there a minimum order for CAD-PRINTZ®?
A:
For CAD-PRINTZ there is a $25.00 minimum order per design.
Q:
Is there a way to show my customer the CAD-PRINTZ® text effects without showing them pricing?
A:
Yes, once you have logged in and selected the ordering option, the Text & Number effects wizard will display. Pricing is not shown until the last media option is selected.

What are vector images?
A:
Vector images are cuttable and can be resized to any dimension without losing quality.

Where do I upload my custom cut artwork?
A:
Upload your custom cut orders to upload.stahlsid.com.
Q:
If I send you a copyrighted or trademarked logo, can you cut it for me?
A:
The unauthorized use of registered trademarks and copyrighted logos or designs is illegal. When creating a product which incorporates these logos, we do reserve the right to ask for written permisson.
Q:
How can I ensure a specific color on my digital transfer?
A:
All monitors are calibrated differently, therefore the color shown on your monitor may not accurately depict the color of your finished product. We can target specific Pantone® colors if needed.

We use a CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) printing process; conversions from the RGB and color palettes can result in perceptible color variation. Color changes cannot be made to jpeg or bitmap images, making them susceptible to color change when printing.
Q:
How long do digital transfers last? Will they crack or fade?
A:
Stahls' printable heat transfer materials (digital transfers) have been lab tested and have received a rating of 50 in the washability test.
Q:
Why does the price of my logos change when I reorder?
A:
Pricing is based on the quantity, size, and media used. Should any of these variables change, your price can also change.
Q:
Can I use different sizes of the same design to meet my $25.00 minimum?
A:
The $25.00 minimum order is per design and material.
Q:
What is a contour?
A:
Essentially, a contour is an outline that is added to a logo. Generally these are added to allow us to cut and weed a logo.
Q:
Why do I need a border/contour on my digital design?
A:
In order to meet our cutting specifications and not cut into your design, sometimes we have to place a contour color/border around your design. If there are small details that would be very difficult to weed, or the outer color is not consistent, a contour may be needed.

We will automatically add a contour cut line to your design. You have the option of selecting a white outline or a custom color from our digital color palette. It is recommended to choose an outline color that matches the product which you are applying your digital design; therefore the outline is less apparent.
Q:
Why was I charged additional fees for CAD-PRINTZ®?
A:
Pricing is based on useable artwork. Minimal art modifications are included. Orders requiring art modifications will incur additional fees.
