As someone who has been using this product for 4 years, and certainly done my share of cussing at it's inconsistency, I have certainly learned some in's and outs.
Translucent colors are never going to be 100%, especially light GRAY, BLUE, PINK and FLESH tones.
For us we initially had to dial down our temp's to allow the self weeding characteristic to work correctly. Secondly, large full color designs require substantially less cooling time, although care should be taken to peel SLOWLY to ensure the self weeding breaks properly at the edge of the design.
There are countless other things to take into account, but I hope this helps someone out there who would have turned away from this product otherwise. It is a great product, but it is advertised as dummy proof, which it is NOT!

this product is a great product when is adheres to a shirt but if you are having a bad day this product will make it worse. The bigger the item the more likely you will have spots where the transfer didn't complete. I have tried adjusting the pressure and time on the press. My best suggestion is to put a shirt under the shirt you are pressing, press for 33 seconds the rub the paper before removal and you should be ok 2 out of three presses.

I have a new company and trying to look for a product that can help with my productivity so I purchased this product and even brought a Canon Laser Printer from the preferred list. so far I've tried 5 out of 5 and not one of these transfers came out right. Now I can blame the type of printer but I won't because the images come out beautiful on the paper but they don't release the ink right. I've purchased the Intra-Stretch & Opaque Transfer Paper and they work just fine but this is really disapointing & frustrating because I've wasted money and time. This is not good for business.

I used an Illumina 502 and an HP LaserJet 5000 with these transfers. I had to switch printers as my HP 5000 had a transfer wrap around the fuser. The Illumina has a straight paper path. After a little experimentation, I had great results. 330 degrees, at firm pressure, 30 seconds, then you wait 7 seconds - while waiting rub t-shirt fabric over the transfer as it cools applying firm pressure - then peel, cover, and press again with Teflon sheet. Once I did the little "rub thing", I had great results - do not go more than 7-8 seconds before peeling. I don't know how well these will wash up - but the original product looks great! I also tried the transfer for the ink jet and it too worked great!

THANK GOD I was able to obtain samples of this product before dishing out the money for a 50 pack. I am very displeased with these transfers. I followed all instructions to the very letter and STILL, not a single clean peel. The edges we coming up on some, chunks missing here and there. The theory behind what these transfers can do is great. And the videos on here look great, however, in reality, its just not a good, consistent product. I was looking forward to doing some on-site printing and pressing but...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...I couldn't dare put my business and clients at risk!!! I thank stahls for the samples though. You guys are a great company and you will certainly continue to receive my business...just not from this product.
Thank you all for reading.

I've been trying to work with this transfer paper for some time now and I have to say I have never in my life seen such a useless product as this. One press out of every 50 might be passable but even then there are parts of the image that do not transfer or left over pieces of backing attached to the shirt, please people don't buy this product, you will live to regret it (I have about 200 test shirts as proof to this).

I'm usually a big fan of Stahls products and services, however this transfer paper is THE WORST I have come across. I would love to say otherwise but I can't. I bought 150pcs and after using almost 75 on different temps and pressures NONE came out worth selling to my client. I took the paper to a print shop not to far away who does great transfers and they confirmed, the paper is not what they say it is. They printed out transfers for me which worked great first time every time for me. I hope Stahls can get a better laser transfer out for there customers. As of now I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Great idea, but having very similar problems to everyone else. Multiple tests with print saturation, paper speed, temp & pressure. Multiple pressing seems to give better, but still not good results. Have yet to get a full consistent release of the image. Stahl's is sending a sample pack of paper so I don't have to keep wasting mine, so I'm going to keep testing to get the release shown in the video. I'll update this with results when we achieve success. Meanwhile, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A fabulous idea that just doesn’t work as advertised.
My Brother HL5250 makes great black and white prints that transfer to fabric 70% of the time.
I bought an Oki C610 for color work and most of the prints look good, but the same mantra as everyone else, inconsistent transfer to fabrics about 40% of the time. High pressure seems to be a help but the key seems to be the peal temperature. Just next to too hot to touch leaves more image on the fabric, then as it cools, the image stays on the paper.
Photo images are normally too dark and have to be lightened up before printing.
Wash ability was better on my Brother B&W prints that have been foiled, but the OKI color photo prints flaked off in 2 to 3 wash cycles.
Unless Stahls’ can issue instructions on how to produce consistent and durable results, new buyer’s need to wait for more positive reviews.

I have an Oki Data yet with my brother HL 2240 is not recommended that this function better I think. In addition to the Oki sometimes when it works it gives a vintage style?!?! I will continue to test different pressure and heat.
I also believed that it was my p-ê heat press the issue but I tested each corner and center side and checked for heat dispersion and it is not one that has a failure!

It works great for the foil. We printed transfers with an approved Okidata but apparently the yellow toner does not stick to the transfer sheets. We have tried different settings and such and we can never achieve a yellow, green, or an orange color. So it was disappointing. I guess it is another appliance in the business that can do only one thing print dark colors. Its a shame since we bought the okidata printer since it was on the list.

Have had nothing but problems with this paper. Had to play with temp and press duration in order to figure out how to get image to stick/transfer. Like Kay Richardson said, it would work one time, and the next time part of the image wouldnt stick to tshirt. When it did work, it looked great, until I put it in the wash (inside out, cold water, no bleach etc) and it would peel off leaving the image cracked and wrinkly.

I agree with Dan. This is an amazing product if/when it works! We also had trouble finding a printer to print it. Even some of the printers on the list did not work for us. We finially did find a local print shop to print the image for us but the transfer still seems to be inconsistant. We have been using this transfer paper for foil applications. We have been very careful with time, pressure and temp. Be sure to peal HOT. When we do get a good peal and apply the foil, it looks amazing. It seems very durable and does not flake.
When it is good, it is very very good, but when it is bad it's useless. We haven't given up yet either.

This product prints absolutely beautiful. Fantastically vibrant color as well as high definition. It also features a fantastic hand to it and fairly descent stretch and no cutting and weeding its flat out amazing. Thats the amazing part. The biggest let down is the printer requirements. I have a dry toner printer which will print nearly perfectly every time on the sheet however will not release 100% of the ink to the shirt. Dark areas seem to be great but light screens simply pull off and don't adhere. My friend has an oil based machine which the package says it will work with. In our tests no matter what setting he had it was worse than my dry toner machine. Bottom line if you want to use this product research your printers and test test test. I still have not found one that will work but have not given up yet
