Q:
I have the Ioline 300 and have always used the 45 degree blade. I only cut twill and felt. Above in the drop down, it says 60 degree blade for twill and felt cutting. The 60 degree is Ioline 100 does that also fit the 300?
A:
The 60 degree blade for the Ioline 100 vinyl cutter requires a different (thinner) blade holder than the one for the Ioline 300.
Q:
How long do cutting blades last?
A:
There is no hard and fast rule for this. The length of time that a blade lasts will depend on a variety of factors including how much cutting you are doing and what you are cutting. For example, reflective materials have glass beads in them and wear down blades much faster than do heat transfer materials, for example. The rule of thumb is to perform and evaluate test cuts at regular intervals. If you are working with a material that isn’t cutting the way it used to, check your blade first.
Q:
Why are designs not cutting smoothly and leaving ragged edges?
A:
First, check that your blade does not need to be replaced, then verify that you are using the proper cutting guidelines for the material you are cutting. If this doesn't solve the problem, it could be the amount of nodes in the design. To reduce the number of nodes in a design you will need to use your graphics program's node edit tool.
