How to Decorate Basketball Jerseys

Use the information below to determine the heat transfer material that best suits your needs, as well as directions for its application. Then use the sizing chart for basketball jersey lettering and numbering to apply correctly sized names, jersey numbers, and shorts numbers.

      Jersey Material: Lightweight Dazzle fabric with cool mesh inserts


Recommended Material for Heat Transfer Letters and Numbers: Thermo-GRIP®


Application: 330° for 6-8 seconds with medium pressure (#4)


Accessories Needed: Reusable Cover Sheet, lettering layout boards, pre-mask tape

TIP:

When a customer orders front numbers for a jersey, ask them if they'd like numbers on the front of the shorts or pants of the uniform. Since you'll already be ordering that size of number, this makes for an easy add-on sale.
 

Common Letter and Number Sizes and Decorating Regulations:

Youth Size Adult Size
Name 2" 3"
Front Number 3" 4"
Back Number 6" 8"
Shorts Number 3" 4"

The number must be at least six inches high on the back of the jersey, and three to four inches high on the front.

Legal numbers are: 00, 0-5, 10-15, 20-25, 30-35, 40-45, and 50-55. Team rosters may not include both 0 and 00.
